Machining Hardox® - built to take a beating.
We have experience of machining Hardox®, the world's leading abrasion-resistant (AR) steel and are currently machining Hardox® 400 in our workshop.
Our CNC Vertical Machining Centre is machining the profiling, drilling and tapping, the Horizontal Borer is profiling and slotting, and the Radial Arm Drill is also carrying out drilling and tapping. With its good workshop properties, Hardox® can be bent, formed and welded, and it will keep resisting cracks and crack propagation.
As its name suggests, Hardox® is hard through and through, from the surface deep down to its core, with a nominal hardness of 400 HBW. This level of hardness minimizes wear and breakage failures since it is difficult for the 'edges' of abrasive material to cut into the Hardox®, giving extended service life and high productivity in the most aggressive and challenging environments. One of the few steels that can cope with shocks, jolts, bangs, nicks and jabs, day after day.
